Color is the key to making a great statement with your clothing. Bright colors, subdued colors, dyes, and washes all contribute to your personal look, and choosing the right color is the foundation for a great outfit.
Pantone, the authority on all things color, releases an annual “Color of the Year”. The Color of the Year 2014 is Radiant Orchid, and it is a color as beautiful as the flower from which it was named. We think a color so lovely deserves the spotlight for this post.
Radiant Orchid is best used as an accent color. Orchid pillows on a neutral couch or Orchid napkins in a simple place setting are both happy surprises in a well-decorated room. Orchid in your clothing provides just as much pop as it does in your home decorating. Lighter shades of Orchid can soften a look, portraying relaxation and calmness. A darker shade of Orchid portrays confidence and playfulness. We love Orchid’s flexibility and versatility, reminding us of our clothing designs here at San Francisco City Lights! We wanted to show you how we put our own touch on the orchid color family. Here is our take on these beautiful shades of Orchid:
